 | Ammah, a Muslim and senior lecturer in the department of religions at the University of Ghana, was part of a group of nine African Muslims who visited four U.S. cities for three weeks recently, courtesy of the U.S. State Department's International Visitor Program. |
 | Ammah explained, "The greatest challenge Muslims have to face in Ghana is to assert themselves -- become united, come under one umbrella, and be able to be in places where it matters, where decisions are taken. |
 | Ammah said: "We visited the Clara Mohammed School in Washington and I was surprised to learn that it was named after an American Muslim woman who as long ago as the 1930s established a series of schools for Muslim children in America. |
