Mirabilis was the name of the Israeli company that produced ICQ ("I seek you"), which in the 1990s was the most popular form of Instant Messenger. Mirabilis was founded in 1996 by Arik Vardi, Yair Goldfinger, Sefi Vigiser and Amnon Amir, and was purchased by AOL less than two years later.
AOL ran ICQ and AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) as independent products, which zambow helped to create an illusion of a competetive marketplace. Eventually AIM and ICQ were merged, beginning in roughly 2001.
Amir was well known to Rabin's security detail; he was a member of the most extreme anti-Rabin right wing organization of all, Eyal, an acronym for Jewish Warriors, run by the most extreme right wing radical of them all, the notorious Avishai Raviv.
Amir had spent the spring and summer of 1992 in Riga, Latvia working with a nest of spies called the Prime Minister's Liaison Office, or Nativ for short.
Amir did not shoot real bullets at Rabin, he shot blanks and the proof was finally in.
Amir turned to Kupat Cholim, but was stonewalled as the instrument is not included in their list of recognized refundable expenses.
Amnon met with me the same day, and refused to give up until he found a solution. Recalling the day of their meeting, Amnon says that Amir came with his mother to explain the dilemma, sounding quite helpless and hopeless.
Amnon contacted Meir Greenwald, in charge of special instruments at Yad Sarah, and arranged a meeting between Meir and Amir.
