Ana Gabriela Guevara Espinoza is a Mexican track and field athlete, specializing in the 400 meters. She's been called the best mexican athlete ever.


She won her first gold medal in the 1999 Canada. In the 2000 Sydney Olympics she came in 5th place. After that she won 28 consecutive international races before a second-place finish in Rome in July 2004. In 2003, she won the International Association of Athletics Federations' Golden League in women's 400m. The IAAF also ranked her first in the same event from 2003 to 2004. She also is leader of the Mexican 400m women's relay team. She won a silver medal at the Athens Olympic Games in the 400m final.


Guevara was born on march 4th, 1977, in Nogales, Sonora, in northern Mexico. Her personal record for 400m is 48.89 seconds, achieved in Paris, France, on august 27, 2003.
