Plot

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Ben Sobel is a psychiatrist about to get married with a mostly boring life, and unsupportive parents. Because of a haphazard car accident and some exchange of business cards, the two meet and Vitti bosses Sobel to be his full-time psychiatrist. In the process, Vitti ruins Sobel’s wedding and turns his practice and his life topsy-turvy. In addition, the FBI keep trying to hook Sobel up with microphones to spy on Vitti, which threatens doctor-patient confidentiality, not to mention Sobel’s life. Psychiatry is a branch of medicine that studies and treats mental and emotional disorders (see mental illness). ... The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is a federal criminal investigative, intelligence agency, and the primary investigative arm of the United States Department of Justice (DOJ). ...

Slowly but surely, Vitti makes progress as he digs into his youth and questions his choice of profession, which ripples the whole mob with surprise and suspicion.

Analyze That (2002): Reviews (1026 words)
What we get in Analyze That are several talented actors delivering their familiar screen personas in the service of an idiotic plot.
Analyze That is no surprise, and pleasant is about the most you can say for it.
This tepid sequel to Harold Ramis's mobster-on-the-couch comedy "Analyze This" (1999) is partially redeemed by Robert De Niro's handful of scenes with Cathy Moriarty-Gentile, who made her screen debut as the teenage wife in "Raging Bull."
The Z Review - Analyze That (949 words)
Analyze That sees the return of Director Harold Ramis and actors Robert De Niro and Billy Crystal, but the characters and material they return to feel much too dated and recycled.
Analyze That is a disappointment, despite some efforts to create valuable comedic relief, even if some of it is toilet-like humor or completely ridiculous, like the sushi incident.
I believe Analyze That comes in Dolby Digital 5.1 even though it is not specified on the DVD cover or language menu.
