The 5-level classification system is as follows:

  • Level 1 Fourteen main groups: Drugs classified by anatomical organ or system•
  • Level 2 and Level 3 Therapeutic/pharmacological subgroup•
  • Level 4 Therapeutic/pharmacological/chemical subgroup•
  • Level 5 The individual substances

Used in Sweden, Czech republic. It is also used in WHO Essential Medicines Library
