Trivia

Andover was the site of a large train wreck which common local myth incorrectly cites as the source of the name of the city. The popular yarn is that a typographical error in a local paper stated that the train rolled over Andover, thus the name.[citation needed]

Actually, the name Andover pre-dates the train wreck and is evidenced by train schedules listing "Andover Station" prior to the wreck.[citation needed]
