Oper is one of the most talented Estonian players of the last decade. He was also tracked by Arsenal as a 20-year old. But no deal was ever reached. He had a successful spell with Aalborg, where he played up front with his national team strike partner Indrek Zelinski. Then he was transferred to Torpedo Moscow after the 02/03 season and was a regular there until the end of the 04/05 season. He had some problems with the club's coaching staff and was ignored when the team was selected for the next game. He was put up to sale and Roda JC came knocking on Torpedo's door. Oper was delighted to get away from Russia. He showed his skills there and became an instant hit amongst Roda's fans. He scored 12 goals in his second season with Roda and was the club's top scorer.


Oper is a skilful player who always works for the team but is also able to score many goals. He is fast and agile and is the best outfield player of Estonian national team.

Andres Oper's agent has hit back at Sunderland, after the club decided not to sign the Estonian striker.
Oper, who was on trial at Sunderland last week, was reportedly set to sign for the Lads, after his club Torpedo Moscow said that he was going to England to sign for a club.
I took Andres there to sign a contract and he was happy to train and then spend three hours having the medical.
