Joey Lawrence began performing at the age of 4, after convincing his parents that he could do what his peers were doing on television.
Lawrence won the first commercial job he auditioned for, and made his television singing debut at the age of 5 on “The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.” As a child, he guest-starred on the series “Silver Spoons” and “Diff’rent Strokes.” This led to four seasons on the popular sitcom “Gimme A Break,” starring Nell Carter.
