Andrews County is a county located in the state of Texas. As of 2000, the population is 13,004. Its county seat is Andrews⁶. Andrews is named for Richard Andrews, a soldier of the Texas Revolution.

There are 5,400 housing units at an average density of 1/km² (4/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 77.08% White, 1.65% Black or African American, 0.88% Native American, 0.71% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 16.79% from other races, and 2.87% from two or more races. 40.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 4,601 households out of which 40.70% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.70% are married couples living together, 9.50% have a female householder with no husband present, and 23.50% are non-families. 21.80% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.00% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.81 and the average family size is 3.29.
