Encyclopedia > Andrzej Badenski

Andrzej Badeński (born April 10, Polish athlete who won a bronze medal in 400 metres run in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics.


He also took part in 1968 (Mexico) and 1972 (Munich) Olymipics. At the end of his career in 1974 he defected to the West and currently lives in Germany.

He jumped 7.94m in training at the age of 17 and so he decided he wanted to go to the 1996 World Junior Championships as a long jumper, but when he kept missing the qualifying mark he decided to try the hurdles and his career was launched.
