During Andy's time in Japan, he met the Muay Thai fighter Joe Higashi, and challenged him to a match. The Fatal Fury Anime

In the Fatal Fury anime series that came out from 1992-1994, Andy Bogard plays an important role in the three movies. The first anime was Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf which follows the classic tale of the Bogard brothers and their journey to free Southtown from Geese Howard and to avenge their father. Andy has silver hair in this anime. After the death of Jeff Bogard at the hands of Geese Howard, Tung Fu Rue sends both Andy and Terry on their own paths to discover the world of martial arts. During the film both of the brothers reunite at their father's grave. Andy arrives there first and watches Terry pay respects to Jeff Bogard before Andy jumps down from a tree and begins to attack Terry. The two of them fight to a draw before Tung Fu Rue stop them. Earlier in the anime Terry meets Joe Higashi at the Pao Pao Cafe, and Joe informs Terry that Andy had become a great Kenpo fighter in Japan.

Tung, Terry, and Andy sit down for and begin to discuss the King of Fighters Tournament. Andy brashly steps up and claims that he would like to avenge Jeff and says that he should be the one to challenge Geese. Tung Fu Rue tells them of a technique called the Hurricane Punch but he will only teach the technique to one of them. So Terry decides that both him and Andy should enter the King of Fighters tournament and should one of them be the victor, Tung Fu Rue will teach them that technique.

Andy's first fight at the King of Fighters Tournament is against Hwa Jai (The first boss in Fatal Fury 1 the video game, and a former kickboxing champion.) Using one of his moves in which Andy twirls upward with a double hand air slice and defeats Hwa Jai in less then 10 seconds. In the movie Geese Howard makes a note of this and thinks that is sad that he has to kill Andy. With a victory over Hwa Jai, Andy moves onto to the quarterfinals and faces off against Terry Bogard. But before the two of them can battle the lights go off in the arena and a sniper is spotted aiming for Andy. In a desperate act Joe jumps in front of the bullet and takes it in the shoulder. The Bogard brothers realize that the whole King of Fighters tournament was an ambush by Geese Howard and make a dramatic escape. During the escape Tung Fu Rue is injured by Billy Kane and is taken to the hospital by Joe, Terry, and Andy. Andy and Joe rush out to fight Geese while Terry stays with Tung. Tung tells Terry that although Geese Howard was always better than Jeff Bogard as a fighter he decided to teach the Hurricane punch to Jeff because he was more disciplined.

Andy and Joe make their way to Geese's island and quickly disposed of the guards that were there. As they climb the mountain to face Geese Andy and Joe are met by Billy Kane and Raiden. A fight ensues between Billy and Andy as the two are locked in a contest of martial arts. Billy Kane gains the advantage on Andy and thinks he has him beat with a pole shot to the stomach. As he turns Andy's body over we find that Andy had been playing possum the whole time and kicks Billy in the face before executing a Zanei-ken which drops Billy Kane. Andy makes his way towards Geese and tries to attack home only to be beaten and badly injured by Geese. As Andy lays on the ground defeated he tells Terry to avenge their father. Terry wins the fight and after they buried master Tung and Lily, Terry, Andy and Joe went their separate ways. Andy vows that next time he sees Terry, he'll be able to beat him.

In the second movie, Andy is seen training at master Jubei Yamada's dojo. He was interrupted and attacked by angry Mai Shiranui for not let her know he came back. She then proceeded to call him her fiance and Andy was stunned by the comment and Mai took advantage and landed in attack on him. Joe shows up and informs him that Terry had lost a fight with Wolfgang Krauser. Andy sought revenge for his brother's defeat after receiving information on Krauser and defeating Jubei in a fight. Mai tagged along to try to stop him from fighting Krauser and to secretly be alone with him. When Mai gets captured by Laurence Blood Andy defeats him and takes Mai home. Andy is not seen again until Terry returns to Southtown. He and Andy fight each other for the right to face Krauser. Andy was defeated by Terry's power geyser that he helped discover. Andy admitted that he was over confident and realizes that Terry will always be stronger than him. Jubei Yamada is a video game character created by SNK. In the third movie, Andy and Mai watch Joe's Match against Hwa Jai and then went to Joe's victory party when he heard that Terry was returning. Terry showed up from out of nowhere at the party and greeted Andy and the others. When the party was crashed by Cheng Sinzan and a fight insued between him and Kim Kaphwan Terry noticed that the mask gave him powerful abilities. A girl named Sulia asked Terry to go on a quest with her to find the armor of Mars and to save her twin brother Laucorn. Andy decided to join him along with Joe and Mai. Andy had came up with a plan to split into two groups to search for the fourth and fifth piece of the armor. Mai follows Andy to be alone with him. In a night club, He is confronted by Billy Kane and shocked to find out he is still alive. He was also confronted by one of Laucorn's minion named Hauer. Hauer took a liking to Mai and Andy didn't like that all. Hauer beat Andy in China after using Mai as bait for the armor. When Hauer and Panni attacked Mai again, Andy appeared and defeated Hauer once and for all afterwards he embraced Mai and revealed how much he cares for her. The next day they went with Terry to save Sulia and to stop Laucorn from getting the last peace but they were too late. Terry tried to take on Laucorn but he was badly beaten by him. When Laucorn moved in to kill him, Andy and Joe intervened and hold him off so Terry could recover. When Mai was attacked Laucorn Andy jumped in front of a blast to save her. After Sulia stabbed herself and Terry freed him from the armor, The armor took a form on its own and tried to kill Mai. Andy once again risked his life by jumping infront of the incoming blast but Laucorn took the blow for him. When Andy saw Terry regain his strength after Sulia's death, he let Terry finish off the armor. After Terry defeated the armor, he along with Andy and the others went home.
