The core members of ANEMOS are Kostas Hatzopoulos (music-arrangement-lyrics) and Katerina Nitsopoulou (lyrics-vocals). Along with them are several exceptional musicians of the Greek music scene contributing the special characteristics of their musical idiosyncrasy. The music of Kostas Hatzopoulos and the lyrics-vocals of Katerina Nitsopoulou refer to something extremely sensitive yet dynamic at the same time. Ethereal vocals and melodies, Rock elements, Greek traditional themes, renaissance motifs and unfolding memories from all over Greece of Epirus, Thrace, Crete and the Aegean, create a rare and original balance that harmoniously finds its place modern times. This balance of ethnic elements transcending through time, captivates the intangible true spirit of Greece and can be visualised by materials such as the naked body, the rock, the sea and the wind. Epirus (Greek: ÎÏειÏοÏ, Ãpiros), is a periphery in northwestern Greece. ...

Kostas Hatzopoulos and Katerina Nitsopoulou explain the choice of the name for their group as well as for their album: The name ANEMOS (wind) allows us to be sensitive as well as dynamic depending on the circumstances and moods. We perceive the vibrations of the wind (ANEMOS) to be sometimes delicate, having a dream like quality and some other times dynamically overruling, creating an unexpected vigor of freedom. The vibrations of the wind are the ones that carry the seeds of the present and future. The main idea of their second album is Peace through Freedom symbolised by Niki of Samothraki, an ancient female sculpture with wide open wings found in the Aegean sea in the island of Samothraki and presently in the museum of Louvre. They were strongly inspired by it since it symbolises the Victory of Freedom and Peace which they believe is what their culture is striving to accomplish throughout the centuries and in the new millennium to come. The third concept album of ANEMOS "Isos I Agapi" (Could be Love; Warner) November 2000 contains 12 inspiring tracks one of which becomes the title song of the successful series Guilty or Innocent on ANT1 TV in Greece, followed by the successful CD single ANEMOS mix (Warner 2001) which contains new rhythmic remixes of 3 of the songs from the album Isos I Agapi.
