The Angaraks consist of four sub-races: the warrior Murgos, the incredibly thick-witted Thulls, and the merchant Nadraks in the west, as well as the Malloreons on the boundless continent in the east.

One of the characteristic attributes of Angarak society is their religion, led by their own priests called Grolims, who preform human sacrifice, even in The Malloreon after Torak has been slain. Throughout The Malloreon, Garion and his friends travel in the lands of the Angaraks, subtly reforming their hatred for them when they meet such characters as Urgit in Murgo and Zakath in Mallorea.
