Angela Bettis (born January 9, 1975 in Austin, Texas) is an American actress best known for her lead role in the horror film May, for which she received several Best Actress awards at various film festivals. She has also directed and produced other films. She appeared in a minor role in the movie Girl, Interrupted alongside Winona Ryder and Angelina Jolie. 2002 saw Angela playing the lead role of Carrie White in the Carrie remake, an NBC telemovie. She also starred in the lead role in the 2004 remake of Toolbox Murders which was directed by Tobe Hooper. In 2005, Angela made her feature length directorial debut with Roman, starring Lucky McKee (director of May).
