Detailed synopsis

Eddie Everett is an Anaheim Angels baseball pitcher. His performance during the game has been terrible ever since he messed up on a play, making his team lose the pennant. His marriage has been failing, and when his wife Claire decides to accept a teaching job at an out-of-state university, it is Eddie's responsibility to watch his 13-year-old daughter, Laurel.
