Settlements
There are only three settlements on Angistri - Milos, Skala and Limenaria. Milos is the main village where the majority of the Greek population of the island live. Skala is a twenty minute walk from Milos along the coastal road. Skala is where most of the tourist hotels are. Limenaria is a very small village on the other side of the island with very little tourism.
Location
Angistri is very close to the larger Saronic island of Aegina. The island can be reached from here by a number of boats in just ten minutes. These boats include the Angistri Express and a number of small "Water Taxis". The island is also an hours boat ride from the large Athenian port of Piraeus. Angistri is famous for being one of the first places in Greece to experiment with naturalism, (or in plain English it was one of the first islands to have a nudist beach).
Angistri is an excellent place to stay and still be able to zip into Athens to see the Acropolis.
As nice as Angistri is, if you wanted to make a calander of the island to sell in the Plaka you would have to bring over a dozen models and have them pose naked in the sea right about where I was swimming.
