In 2000 they secured a deal with Blackbird / Atlantic and re-released "Bizarre Gardening Accident" as a self title. The band started to tour in support of the album, but this quickly ended when Atlantic decided to axe many of it's sublabels. Angry Salad was dropped and in lieu of standard Major Label contracts they lost rights to their name, music, and albums. Some members regrouped later as Star64 but later disbanded and went their separate ways.
Former lead singer Bob Whelan has claimed that the name of the band came from a discussion at a bar in the Caribbean as to a good name for a band.
