Anguo (Chinese: 安国; pinyin: Ānguó), nicknamed "Medicine Capital" (藥都), is a county-level city in the regional city of Baoding, central Hebei Province, China, south of Beijing. In premodern China, Anguo was Qizhou (祁州: Qízhōu). In 1991, Anguo was changed from county into a city. The city governs 20 town-level entities in 486 km², of which the centrally placed Yaocheng (药城: Yàochéng) is the municipal seat. The Chinese playwright Guan Hanqing was born here. Considered one of the Four Great Yuan Playwrights, Guan Hanqing (關漢卿) (circa 1241-1320), sobriquet the Oldman of the Studio (齋叟 Zhāisǒu), was born in the capital city of the Yuan Empire, Dadu (the part that is Anguo, Hebei, China now) and produced about 65 plays, mostly in Vernacular Chinese...
