Ankst is a Welsh independent record label formed in 1988 at Aberystwyth University by Alun Llwyd and Emyr Williams. Ankst has been the launch-pad for several popular Welsh artists, including Llwybr Llaethog, Super Furry Animals and Gorky's Zygotic Mynci. In 1997 the label separated into Ankst Management (responsible for Super Furry Animals, Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, The Longcut, and Cerys Mathews) and Ankst Musik, the label (which is now based in Pentraeth on Anglesey).
