Anlaby is a village 4 miles west of Kingston upon Hull, and is in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is bordered by Anlaby Common (with which it forms the civil parish of Anlaby with Anlaby Common), Willerby, Kirk Ella and Hessle. It lies to the east of the B1232 road and on the B1231 road. It has a number of shops, as well as cafes/restaurants and and a gym. These are situated on the conjoined roads of Wilson Street and Hull Road. The shops included a number of Charity shops, a small Supermarket, a Grocers, a Post Office, a Pharmacist, a Fish and Chip shop, a Pizza/Burger/Kebab shop, a Chinese takeaway, two Bakers, and the award winning butchers Brian Fields.

ANLABY HOMESTEAD (120 words)
Anlaby is one of Australia's great homesteads and one of the first grand rural properties in South Australia.
Settled in 1841 by F.H. Dutton and reaching it's heyday in the Edwardian era when it hosted the Prince of Wales, Anlaby retains much of the splendour of those days in the existing buildings.
Anlaby is in the process of being restored, breathing life into the buildings and gardens that once echoed to the sounds of a bustling rural community.

Such was the wealth generated, that the early landowners had soon established fabulous homesteads like Anlaby Station, the original home of the Dutton family.
But Anlaby was also a working station with sixty thousand sheep scattered up to forty kilometres away.
In fact Anlaby was named after a village in Yorkshire, and while for some it was a case of "to the Manor Born", for others it was serious work.
