On the ninth of september 1980 Anna lang displayed a very high degree of courage in rescuing two car passengers. At the entry of the Hammond River bridge a fuel tanker hit Mrs. Lang's car and rammed it through and into the river. At that point the tanker then fell into the river and exploded. In spite of suffering a concussion, the threat of further explosion and rapidly spreading fire, Mrs. lang swam to shore and removed her heavy clothing, and returned to the submerged car. At extreme risk to her life Mrs Lang reached through a wall of fire on the surface of the water in order to reach her passengers. With great difficulty she dragged her four year old son and another woman a safe distance from the intense fire, and continued to drag them to shore until two young men came to help. She suffered extreme burns during the rescue. Image File history File links Unbalanced_scales. ...
