In 1933 Lithuanian historian, Ignas Jonynas, published a research in which he attempted to debunk the chronicles and demonstrate that Anna was the sister of Sudimantas, a nobleman from Eišiškės (Lithuania). The only thing known about Sudimantas is that he was once mentioned as Vytautas's brother-in-law, as was Prince Lev of Drutsk. Mainstream historians believe that both Sudimantas and Lev of Drutsk were married to sisters of Vytautas's first wife, Princess Maria of Lukoml.
