Annah Moore is a successful musician, writer and artist currently living in the United States. Born in New York City in 1966, she struggled with the transsexual condition until her mid-thirties when she completed her transition to female. Ms. Moore has become well-known in the hard rock and heavy metal music communities for her excellent guitar playing and songwriting talents, and widely regarded in the LGBTcommunities for her efforts to help others. A transsexual (sometimes transexual) person establishes a permanent identity with the opposite gender to their assigned (usually at birth) sex. ... Ms. Moore started playing guitar in 1983 at the age of sixteen. Her main influences as a guitarist are Randy Rhoads, Megadeth, Vivian Campbell, Jake E. Lee, Nancy Wilson, Judas Priest, and older Metallica, among many others. In 1984 she took private classical guitar lessons while attending Arizona State University for a degree in music. She left ASU, however, to cope with her personal issues, but continued to utilize music as a means to express the deep frustrations that often accompany the transsexual condition. Her list of bands includes Thunderin Reign (Phoenix 1990-1992), Bittersweet (Phoenix 2000-2001), Boneglove (Austin 2002-2003), Red Volution (Austin 2004-2006) and she is burning up the heavy metal scene with the band IGNITOR (Austin 2006-).


For the past four years Annah has been writing a book about her life experiences, which is called Right Side Out. The book is more than just a synopsis of what she has been through, it is an attempt to help not only other trans individuals cope with the situation, but to help everyone understand it. The highly anticipated title for many in the trans and music communities is now available on the publisher's website www.iuniverse.com and will be available at all major online resellers in November 2006.


Annah is a strong supporter of equal rights, not only for LGBT individuals, but for all people. She does not hide her history and is open about where she comes from and the struggles she has faced. She makes regular radio and television appearances to support education and awareness of trans issues. These include a special show on Discovery Health Channel called "sexChange: Him to Her". In July 2006 Annah appeared on the Kidd Chris Show and in September 2006 will appear on the Austin station KOOP on the show InnerViews.
