Song information

The single, which was only released in the United Kingdom, Australia and a few European countries, was not a big hit on the charts, entering at UK number seven but free-falling thereafter. The single was withdrawn from sale in Australia almost as soon as it was released, and as such became the only Madonna single to not chart on the ARIA Australian Top 100. Interestingly, the song was originally not sung by the character of Eva but by Perón's deposed mistress. It was adapted to the role for Madonna to sing in the film version, adding a more vulnerable dimension to the character and another potential Madonna hit to aid the film's promotion.
