There are two different songs below! Aparently, one is the anthem of the (pro-Russian) Chechen Republic (Chechen and Russian versions), the other is the anthem of the (separatist) Chechen Republic of Ichkeria (English verssion). See Death or Freedom for a Chechen version of the later. Hence, the following are missing: Death or Freedom(Russian : СмеÑÑÑ Ð¸Ð»Ð¸ Ñвобода) is Chechen Republic of Ichkeria National anthem. ...
- Шатлакхан Илли translation in English
- Шатлакхан Илли translation in Chechen with Latin alphabet (as Death or Freedom has)
- Death or Friedom translation in Russian
- to verify that two translations in English of Death or Friedom are identical
- to copy-edit the two pages
- someone (well-educated), who knows all three languages, to go through the translations to check everything
- aslo, it shouldn't be so difficult to find the notes, audio files, and some history of both songs

[edit] Death or Freedom The English language is a West Germanic language that originates in England. ...
We were born at night when the she-wolf whelped, In the morning, to lion's deafening roar, were named. In eagles' nests our mothers nursed us, To tame wild bulls our fathers taught us.
Our mothers raised us to dedicate ourselves to our Nation and our Homeland, And if our nation needs us we're ready to fight the oppressive hand. We grew up free as eagles, princes of the mountains. There is no threshold from which we will shy away.
Sooner will cliffs of granite begin to melt like molten lead, Than any one of us shall lose our honour in life's struggles. Sooner shall the Earth be swallowed up by the broiling sun, Than we emerge from a trial in life without our honour!
Never to bow our heads to anyone, we give our sacred pledge, To die or to live in freedom is our fate. Our sisters heal our brothers' bloody wounds with their songs, Our beloved's eyes will supply the strength of arms.
If hunger weaken us, we'll gnaw on the roots of trees, And if thirst debilitates us, we'll drink the dew from the grass. For we were born at night when the she-wolf whelped. We pledge our lives to God, Nation and Vainakh homeland.
