Adams attended Martin Luther King Jr. High School in Detroit, Michigan and was a letterman in football and in track and field as a shot-put thrower. In football, he was a USA Today All-USA Honorable Mention selection. Anthony Adams graduated from Martin Luther King Jr. High School in 1998. Professional career

The San Francisco 49ers drafted Adams as the 57th overall selection of the 2003 NFL Draft. He was used sparingly on the 49ers defense. During his tenure with the 49ers, he amassed 155 tackles and six sacks in 58 career games with 34 starts.
