Anthony Paul Kennedy Shriver (born July 20, 1965) is an activist for the mentally retarded. In 1989, he founded Best Buddies International, an international organization that helps the intellectually disadvantaged to find employment and social opportunities.
He attended Georgetown University as an undergraduate, where in 1987, he had started a precursor Best Buddies volunteer program that paired university students with mentally retarded individuals of similar age.

On May 23, 1953, she married (Robert) Sargent Shriver, Jr, who was U.S. ambassador to France from 1968 to 1970, and was Democratic vice-presidential candidate in 1972.
