Also, 21 of the albendazole patients compared with 8 of the placebo patients were free of active lesions.
The authors note that in patients with massive brain infection antiparasitic therapy is contraindicated but, generally they "recommend the use of antiparasitic treatment as part of routine practice in the management of parenchymal brain cysticercosis."
