Apache Mall is the largest enclosed shopping space in Rochester, Minnesota. It was built in 1972 at the intersection of U.S. Route 52 and U.S. Route 14. Anchor stores are Sears, J.C. Penney, Herberger's, and Macy's (formerly Dayton's; then Marshall Field's). It also has a large Barnes & Noble bookstore, which many consider to be the "5th" anchor. The Mall's food court has had free wifi access provided by the city's only cable television company, Charter Communications since January 2007.
