APOCRISIARIUS, a Latinized title (originally equivalent to Agens in rebus ?) from the Greek (meaning 'he who answers', i.e. for his sender), rendered in purist Latin as responsalis, is a high diplomatic representative, in modern terms ranking as ambassador, in two spheres
