Aptakisic Junior High School is located on Weiland Road in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. It feeds into Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois and the school's main goal is to prepare the students for the competitive nature of high school. Unlike previous schools, students must change in gym class, have different teachers for all classes, and get an increased load of homework. Like most junior high schools, Aptakisic has activities like science fair, scholastic bowl, cross country, basketball, volleyball, wrestling, cheerleading, poms, an ever successful school play, pep rallies, and track and field. The school is only for grades seven and eight. Tripp Elementary School, Pritchett Elementary School, and Meridian Middle School are schools that all feed into Aptakisic.
