AquaNox is a underwater simulation game for PC which was released in 2001 by Massive Development.
It has a future setting underneath the ocean where the player pilots small submarines and fight other submariners and artificial/alien lifeforms such as bionts and crawlers. The graphics for the game were great at the time of production. Reviews were generally poor and was not well known to gamers. A sequel was released in 2003 called AquaNox 2: Revelation by the developer. This sequel had improvements in graphics and dialogue. The 2 games' stories take place at the same time, but only meet slightly during a small mission. Both games include main characters that help the player develop the story and help in underwater combat.
