The Arabian Prince started making music in middle school recording mixtapes at KACE radio where his father worked. He also DJ'd at school dances and clubs [1]. He started his official career at RapSur Records, a label set up by Russ Parr, and was part of Russ Parr's electro music group, Bobby Jimmy & the Critters [2]. Bobby Jimmy & the Critters released four albums and one greatest hits record from 1986-1991 before disbanding. During that time, Arabian Prince did some DJing and producing work with Egyptian Lover, L.A. Dream Team and World Class Wreckin' Cru. This work caught the attention of Dr. Dre as well as the Los Angeles club scene and landed Arabian Prince guest appearances on Straight Outta Compton.
