ArchiveGrid is a database filled with family histories, political papers and historical records from all over the world. The database consists of nearly a million descriptions, collected information that were contributed by hundreds of libraries, museums, and archives. On this page is a list of organizations that contributed to the project.ArchiveGrid will enable searches through family histories, political papers, and historical records held in archives around the world.

Core Operation

Scholars that want to learn about items in the collection, can contact the archives examine the item and order copies. ArchiveGrid is open for the public to provide comments on the potential and design of ArchiveGrid. RLG openly encourages the public to judge their database development processes: Please take a moment to look at the newest designs and let us know what you think. We want to hear from you. [1]


RLG

ArchiveGrid is developed and owned by RLG, who in turn, will capture the searches done by users to enhance the search results, without connecting the data to a specific person. They are a not for profit organization, that consists of over 160 universities, national libraries, archives, historical societies, and other institutions. In return, RLG will develop and operates databases and software to serve the information needs of all libraries, museums, and archives.
