The Biodesign Institute is Arizona’s largest investment in bioscience infrastructure.


The Biodesign Institute is located on the campus of Arizona State University and is led by Dr. George Poste, an established leader in international science with extensive experience in academia, industry and government. The Institute is organized into a rapidly-growing number of research centers staffed by top scientists in diverse disciplines.

The Biodesign Institute is a center specializing in bioscience infrastructure at Arizona State University.
The Biodesign Institute is located on the Tempe campus of Arizona State University, a comprehensive metropolitan university that is the 4th largest in the U.S. and ranks third among public universities in producing National Merit Scholars.
The Institute is led by George Poste, a world-renowned scientist and policy maker with four decades of experience spanning academia, industry and government.

Arizona Biodesign Institute is going to put people working in these areas together to create more research.
But if we build the type of environment here in Arizona that Mike Crow envisions that really all of us do that by building and putting in place an infrastructure to support research and support the entrepreneurial spirit of researchers who want to come to Arizona and foster development here, this is where it'll happen.
The research effort is relatively strong in Arizona, but not as strong as some of the major power houses that we compete for in particular in our region, California and Texas.
