Armagh City then had a chance themselves when Elliott Morris was called on, to save a Mark Turkington free-kick, that was made all the harder as it took a deflection.
Glentoran continued to press and caused the Armagh City defence more problems when Colin Nixon flicked on a throw-in, the ball being cleared to Peter McCann whose effort was delected to Gary Hamilton who flashed his effort over the bar from 6 yards after 20 minutes.
A minute later Armagh City had a chance when Shane Coney did well down the left to set-up Mark Turkington, who saw his effort just go by the Glens left hand post, with Elliott Morris stranded.
