This page lists the various armoured units operated by the USA in the real-time strategy series Command & Conquer: Generals and its expansion pack Zero Hour. Age of Empires (1997), Invasion of an enemy Real-time strategy (RTS) is a genre of computer games characterised by being a real-time wargame (strategic) in which one exerts direct control over individual units, and resource gathering, base building and technology development are integral gameplay aspects. ...
Combat Vehicles
These are vehicles that mount some type of weapon and are capable of attacking enemy units or defending allied or frindly units.
Tomahawk Mobile Missile Launcher
A US Tomahawk Missile Launcher in Zero Hour The long arm of the USA is the fictional Tomahawk missile launcher. Equipped with a BGM-109 Tomahawk cruise missile this unit functions as the United States' rocket artillery, able to stand off from a considerable distance and pound enemy structures with impunity. While the launcher can strike at an enemy from a distance the unit's lacklustre speed, armour and reload time require that it be escorted out in the field. Tomahawks are useful against garrisoned buildings and base defense structures, but can be intercepted by appropriately-armed systems. Despite its vulnerabilities as a siege weapon, it is better than the Scud Launcher at engaging enemy units, mainly because its missiles home in on targets while in flight. Humvee The HMMWV (or incorrectly, Hummer) is well-suited for reconnaisance operations where the only expected threats are personnel, of which it can easily deal with using the mounted machine gun. When equipped with the BGM-71 TOW launcher it can competently engage lightly-armoured threats and conduct limited anti-air operations. Up to five infantry can be garrisoned in the Humvee, and can fire out while inside. If it is destroyed while there are infantry inside those men will die as well. In multiplayer games, the Humvee finds itself more used as the core of an attack than the Crusader Tank, mainly because of its good mobility and versatility. There is also the fact that with the Hellfire Drone, TOW Missile Upgrade, and 5 Missile Defenders inside of it, it becomes an extremely good anti-armor vehicle.
Crusader Tank
A US Crusader Tank in Zero Hour The backbone of US tank divisions, the Crusader tank fills the role of the primary main battle tank. These vehicles form the bulk of all US armoured strike columns, and are frequently seen operating alongside complementary units as the Humvee and the Tomahawk Missile Launcher. As with all anti-armour platforms, the Crusader Tank's basic armour is left vulnerable to appropriately-armed infantry and air assault. The Crusader is upgradeable with Composite Armor at the US Strategy Centre building and with drones. Image File history File links USA_Crusader_Tank_(C&CG). ...

Tank classification can be done in a variety of ways: usually either by intended role, or by weight. ...
The Crusader is the USA faction's standard battle tank. Compared to the GLA and Chinese equivalents, the Crusader is superior to them both in terms of firepower and armour, and superior to the Chinese Battlemaster in terms of speed. It also has the benefit of US drone technology, which is employed on all vehicles save for the Sentry Drone and the Construction Dozer. However, it is half again more expensive than the GLA Scorpion tank, and a bit more so than the Battlemaster. Despite its attributes, it is more underused in multiplayer games than either tank, mainly due to the effectiveness of Humvees as anti-armor vehicles when filled up with Missile Defenders and armed with TOW missiles. This unit has no actual relation to the real-life British Crusader tank, which was a tank produced in World War II. One of the primary cruiser tanks of the United Kingdom during World War II, the Cruiser Tank VI Crusader was perhaps the most important British tank of the North African Campaign. ...
Paladin Battle Tank
A US Paladin Tank in Zero Hour An experimental battle tank, the next-generation USA Paladin Tank is available only through the expenditure of a General's point and costs 300 more credits than the Crusader. It compensates for this by having a bit more armor and a point-defense laser, which can destroy small incoming rocket weaponry. The lasers can also attack very close-by infantry, yet another advantage for this tank. Like the Crusader, the Paladin benefits from the armour upgrade from the strategy centre. Avenger (Zero Hour)
A US Avenger in Zero Hour Exclusive to Zero Hour, the Avenger is a Humvee armed with a rapid-fire laser weapon that can serve in a point-defence role with alarming efficiency. The weaponry can also hit aircraft, making it suitable for an anti-aircraft role. When asked to engage a ground unit, the Avenger "paints" it with a laser designator, which allows for all friendly units firing on the same target to have an improved rate-of-fire. Microwave Tank (Zero Hour)
A US Microwave Tank in Zero Hour Exclusive to Zero Hour, the US Microwave Tank is a tank that generates a powerful microwave field around itself that can cook infantry in seconds. It also has the capability to project this field in the form of a beam to a garrisoned building in order to roast infantry inside, and as well as fire the beam at an enemy structure to temporarily disable it. Sentry Drone (Zero Hour) Only available in the Zero Hour expansion, the Sentry Drone is the US faction's only dedicated scout vehicle, with a large sight range and the ability to see invisible enemy units. It is relatively quick, adequately armoured, and comes at a price ranging around that of a Technical. It also has the ability to turn invisible, making it useful for keeping watch on areas. Unlike other US vehicles, it does not have the ability to construct drones, considering it is one itself. It can also be upgraded with a 50.Cal Sentry Gun at the US War Factory, enabling it to become an effective anti-infantry weapon.
Non Combat Vehicles These are vehicles that are not designed to engage in combat, but are nonetheless an important part of the USA war machine.
Construction Dozer
A US Construction Dozer in Zero Hour Command & Conquer: Generals introduced a new group of middlemen responsible for the construction of all buildings of for a given side. For the USA, this resulted in the introduction of the Construction Dozer, a wheeled front end loader. In addition to their primary role, they repair damaged structures, in effect taking over from the engineers of past CnC games. A third role for the Construction Dozer is demining and bomb disposal. Dozers are strictly non-combat; they mount no weapon and therefore rely on others for defense. They are also relatively slow which renders them vulnerable out in the field. Dozers are also somewhat cost inefficent, they are only really needed for building construction and the booby trap removal, with their other functions either complementary or avoidable with proper precautions. This article is about an antipersonnel trap designed for use against humans. ...
The inclusion of this unit was also met with resistance from long-time C&C fans. Until the introduction of Generals and Zero Hour all building construction was handled from a Construction Yard, which allowed credits to be spent purely on war units like tanks rather than construction-oriented support vehicles like Dozers. Many fans cited the introduction of the Dozer as one of the reasons why Generals and Zero Hour should not be considered "true" Command & Conquer games.
Ambulance
A US Ambulance in Zero Hour A non-combat unit employed by the USA, the Ambulance fills a role previously occupied by Medics: healing nearby ground units and infantry inside the vehicle itself. Additionally they come with a special sprayer on top which can clear areas of various types of contamination. The latter ability is especially important against Chinese and GLA players, whose weaponry and superweapons could spread nuclear, biological, and chemical agents into a player's base. They can also carry a small number of infantry. Image File history File links USA_Ambulance_(C&CG). ...

POW Truck
A US POW Truck in Generals Exclusive to Generals this tri-axle truck was an unarmed vehical responsible for the transportation of enemy combatants. This truck could not be built by the player, and even when present on the battlefield remained under computer control. They were apparently supposed to be buildable however, considering complete sound files for them are available in the game's resource packages. Image File history File links USA_POW_Truck_(C&CG). ...

Drones With the exception of the Construction Dozer, POW Truck, and Supply Truck all USA armoured vehicles can create one of three different drones to aid their parent. A Drone's armour can be upgraded at the Strategy Center. Drones whose parent vehicle has been destoyed will also be destroyed. - Battle Drone: A drone that performs repairs on its parent when not engaged in combat, and will assist in fighting with its gun.
- Scout Drone: A tiny unmanned aerial vehicle that circles the area around its parent, revealing stealthed units and structures.
- Hellfire Drone: Exclusive to Zero Hour the Hellfire drone fires a AGM-114 Hellfire missile at an enemy unit.
