History

The street is named after the arsenal in a barracks of British Army in Hong Kong. One of the early streets in the Victoria City, it is also the boundary between Central and Wan Chai. The site of the barracks was later transferred to Hong Kong Government and became Arsenal House and Caine House, the headquarters of Hong Kong Police Force.
