Artenara is a Canarian municipality in the westcentral and the central portion of the island of Gran Canaria in the Las Palmas province in the Canary Islands. The population is 1,357 (ISTAC, 2003), its density is 20.34/km² and the area is 66.7 km²/6,670 ha.
