Band history

Members are the rapper J Ax and DJ Jad;
They are one of the first Hip Hop Groups in Italy, and they released one of the first Hip Hop records : Strade di città, in 1993. Next they get signed to Bmg Ricordi and started to mix their rap with pop music, obtaining great success.
Their producer is Franco Godi who produced the music for the Signor Rossi animated series. They took their name from the Irish constitutional law guaranteeing freedom of the press.


They moved from pure hip hop to hip hop with many influences from rock (sampling Bob Dylan), klezmer (sampling the Klezmatics) etc. to a rock/pop-inspired kind of rap. They worked together with Kurtis Blow on the album "XChé SI!", which also included an electro track. Eine der ersten Hip-Hop Gruppen, die vom italienischen Mainstream Beachtung erhielt war Mailands Articolo 31, damals und heute von Franco Godi produziert, der die Filmmusik zu den animierten TV-Serien Signor Rossi in den 1970ern schrieb.
Articolo 31 begann als ein hauptsächlich vom Eastcoast Hip Hop beeinflusstes Hip-Hop Duo, aber wechselte zu einem gewinnbringenderen Stil während ihrer Karriere und entwickelten sich schließlich zu einer Punk/Pop/Crossover Gruppe.
