In 1969, Noe became increasingly concerned about the 'warts' growing from his body. These 'warts', said to be natural by the unwitting doctors, was actually Kaposi's sarcoma, a type of rash that is associated with HIV/AIDS. Noe then became increasingly sick and the rash got worse as time passed. In 1970, he noticed that both his wife and his 2-year-old daughter were also extremely sickly and also had the same rash as he did.
