The patriarch of one of Llanview's most prominent families, the Buchanans, Asa is a self-made billionaire and Chief Executive Officer of Buchanan Enterprises.


Born and raised in Texas, Buchanan moved the headquarters of his company to Llanview in 1980 to stay close to his sons, Clint and Bo. He is also the most married man in daytime television, having been married 14 times to 11 different women, although several of the marriages were invalid[1]. Asa resides at the Buchanan Mansion. Notes

  • Asa Buchanan faked his 1st wife Olympia Buchanan's death in the late 70's. Olympia was revealed to be alive in 1978 ruling his past marriage to Pamela Oliver Stuart invalid. Upon Olympia's real death in 1980, Asa became legally a widower rendering his future marriages valid.
