The Emirates Stadium is a football (soccer) stadium, being built for Arsenal F.C. in Ashburton Grove, Islington, north London, England. It is scheduled to open in the summer of 2006, and will have a seated capacity of 60,000 spectators. The overall project cost for the construction of the stadium is £357 million [1] (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/a/arsenal/3715678.stm).
Arsenal announced on October 5, 2004 that the Emirates Stadium will be known as such for at least the first 15 years due to a £100m sponsorship deal with the Emirates airline company. The deal also includes Emirates to be the club's shirt sponsor for eight years, starting in the 2006-2007 season.

The Emirates Stadium is a football stadium in AshburtonGrove, Islington, north London, England and is the current home of Arsenal Football Club.
It was informally known as AshburtonGrove before a naming rights deal with the airline Emirates was announced in 2004, and that name is still used by some people.
Many supporters continue to use the name "AshburtonGrove" for the new stadium, especially those that object to the concept of corporate sponsorship of stadium names.
Designed by HOK Sport, the venue at AshburtonGrove, London, is at the centre of a £390 million project, opened in July 2006 and fully operational for the start of the 2006–2007 football season.
To finance the project, Ashburton Properties, a subsidiary of Arsenal Holdings plc was formed and obtained a £260 million senior loan facility from a stadium facilities banking group.
AshburtonGrove is half a mile from Arsenal's present ground, Highbury.
