Ashikaga Yoshikatsu (Jp. 足利 義勝) (March 19, 1434August 16, 1443) was the 7th shogun of the Ashikaga shogunate who reigned from 1442 to 1443 during the Muromachi period of Japan. Yoshimasa was the son of the 6th shogun Ashikaga Yoshinori.


Yoshikatsu became Seii Taishogun at 8 years of age a year after the assassination of his father Yoshinori by Akamatsu Mitsusuke in the Kakitsu Rebellion of 1441.


However, Yoshikatsu died from disease in the next year and was succeded by his younger brother, the 8th shogun Ashikaga Yoshimasa, in 1449.
