Ashley Pharoah is a British television writer, co-creator of the successful drama series Life on Mars, which began on BBC One in 2006. After studying at the National Film and Television School in Beaconsfield in the 1980s, Pharoah began his television writing career on the BBC soap opera EastEnders, on which he worked for three years. In 2006 he formed Monastic Productions with the writer Matthew Graham. Monastic Productions are involved in the Life On Mars spin-off ASHES TO ASHES and co-producing BONEKICKERS - a 6-part drama series about archeology, set in Bath. Both series are to be broadcast on BBC 1 in 2008.
