Ashoke Sen is an Indian theoretical physicist who works on string theory. Sen received his PhD from State University of New York at Stony Brook. He worked as a research scientist in Fermilab and SLAC. Later he joined TIFR before he finally moved to HRI. He co-discovered S-duality and proposed a successful explanation of open string tachyon condensation. He has also co-written many papers on string field theory. Sen is a winner of the ICTP Prize.
