The Coburg Cricket Club is one of the oldest sporting clubs in Victoria and as such this chronology is an attempt to review its extensive history.
The Coburg Cricket Club was founded in 1856, when this country was in its infancy, before Federation was even contemplated, a time when there was - "gold in them there hills" - and cricket was an integral part of the Australian psyche.
Club is drained of players for service in the Great War in Europe including future President H.J. Silverthorne who, in correspondence, described his time of service at Gallipoli as "full and hard work".
