God and Salvation
The Assemblies of Yahweh teaches that Yahweh is a singular being, and that Yahshua (Jesus) is Yahweh's Beloved Son, the very first creation, and chosen Messiah,John 16:28-30; Psalm 2; Micah 5:2; John 17:5; Phil. 2:5-8. The Holy Spirit is an impersonal force sent from Yahweh, given to those who obey the commandmnets and therefore the doctrine of the Trinity is rejected by the Assemblies of Yahweh as a pagan belief,Acts 19:1-6; Acts 8:14-24; 1 Timothy 4:14; Acts 2:38; Acts 5:32. Salvation is found through faith in Yahshua and following the Torah, including keeping the Ten Commandments, using the sacred names, and keeping the Old Testament festivals such as Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles. Non-adherents are even referred to as gentiles. In Judaism, the Messiah (Hebrew: , Standard Tiberian ; Arabic: , ; Aramaic: ; the Anointed One) at first meant any person who was anointed with oil on rising to a certain position among the ancient Israelites, at first that of High priest, later that of King and also that of a prophet. ...

This Sacred Name organization also teaches that salvation is a free gift to those who follow the example of Yahshua the Messiah and is earned. Those who are righteous are raised to eternal life at the Second Coming. The Assemblies of Yahweh affirm that the Scriptures teach eternal punishment for the wicked, that this punishment is complete destruction in the lake of fire (Gehenna), and they disavow an eternal torment in an ever-burning hell, 2 Thess. 1:7-10; Mall 4:1-3; Psalm 37:20-22; Isaiah 33:12; Matt. 25:46; Jude 7. The Bible The Bible is considered the inspired, inerrant word of Yahweh. However, the AOY rejects the inspiration of the Greek New Testament, believing it to be corrupted from a Hebrew original. Therefore, all New Testament doctrines must be considered in light of the Old Testament. The organization has published its own edition of the Bible known as the Sacred Scriptures, Bethel Edition, which is based on the American Standard Version of the Bible. Both Bibles are very similar, though the Sacred Names are used in the Sacred Scriptures, Bethel Edition. This Gutenberg Bible is displayed by the United States Library. ...

It is believed the Sacred Name Yahweh was removed from the text of the Bible because of a misguided desire to preserve it from the desecration by the heathen. Therefore the scribes through a misapplication of the third commandment began about the year 300 B.C.E. (Before this Common Era) to insist upon the use of the foreign term Adonai that they considered less holy. This misguided zeal eventually carried into New Testament times. Even after Yahshua the Messiah came and restored the truth of the Sacred Name, following the death of the Messiahs apostles the Nicolaitanes won the victory over the laity. Thereafter, the Hebrew Name of the Messiah, which according to the Bible, will bring salvation (Acts 4:12) became Greek in character. It is believed that no longer could the Messiahs Semitic Name with its intrinsic meaning of Yahweh’s Salvation, be recognised by what He today is called in churchianity. Doctrine Elder Jacob O.Meyer has held a lifelong interest in the Bible. Born in 1934, he has devoted his life to a deep study of the sacred Scriptures and the languages and life setting of the Bible. Married and the father of ten children, Elder Meyer began his ministry in 1966 with the Sacred Name Broadcast. From those who heeded the biblical message has grown the Assemblies of Yahweh, a non-profit organisation. Elder Meyer edits two monthly magazines and continues his radio, television, and weekly congregational messages at the International Headquarters of the Assemblies of Yahweh at Bethel, Pennsylvania. In 1974 Elder Meyer founded Obadiah School of the Bible, where he continues to serve as administrator and full-time instructor. He also in the founder and administrator of Dalet School. As the overseer of WMLK, the shortwave radio voice of the Assemblies of Yahweh, Elder Meyer also serves as a board member of the National Association of Shortwave Broadcasters. Elder Meyer edited and published The Sacred Scriptures, Bethel Edition, in 1981 and has also written The Memorial Name Yahweh and The Commentary on Galations. Elder Meyer has begun publishing an extensive series of books, beginning with the Translation and Commentary of Micah, and the Commentary on Revelation – the Seven Lamps of Yahweh in 2006. Meyer has been a very prolific writer during his ministry. Aside from the importance placed on the sacred names, many of their doctrines are similar to those of the Worldwide Church of God, during its leadership under its founder Herbert W. Armstrong. An austere Pennsylvania Dutch influence also is reflected in its organizational values, especially in the emphasis on withdrawing from popular entertainments and strictly shunning those who have been disfellowshipped from their membership. As set forth in the Assemblies of Yahweh Statement of Doctrine, the Assemblies of Yahweh has embraced the method of Bible research, that is to harmonize the Bible from cover to cover. It is strongly believed that mainstream religion has done a great error in rejecting to do this, which has perpetuated false doctrine within most organisations when they deal with Assembly administration. The Assemblies of Yahweh also stresses the need for taking a rather literal interpretation of what the Bible teaches. They believe that when the Bible commands someone to do something, it would be anything but logical to explain that command away, by turning it in to a spiritual aleegory (1John2:1-8) Source: Biblical Ecclesiastical Assembly Administration.
Organization The Assemblies of Yahweh were founded in 1969 by Elder Jacob O. Meyer, who has been their Directing Elder ever since. Headquarters is located in Bethel, PA and AOY have several assemblies throughout the world. The Assemblies of Yahweh is one of many Sacred Name groups, they publish a monthly magazine called The Sacred Name Broadcaster, and also have syndicated television and radio shows, as well as WMLK, a shortwave radio station of their own.
Criticism Questions over the financial accountability have led to concerns over the spending of members' tithes and offerings, including expenditures for lawyers' fees. The Assemblies of Yahweh has a good reputation, but is criticized for its emphasis on obedience to the laws of the Bible. In the Assemblies of Yahweh Statement of Doctrine, it states “It should be our objective to live as healthily as we can…and consequently be a more effective witness for Yahweh”, there is also an emphasis of showing love for our fellow brethren. The Assemblies of Yahweh affirms “that obedience to the commandments of Almighty Yahweh included observing and keeping holy His commanded observances of Leviticus 23 and Numbers 28-29”. The Assemblies of Yahweh has consistently proven that the Messiah expressed the will of the Heavenly Father Yahweh, by expressing the need to keep the commandments, Micah 6:6-8; 1John1:7;1 John2:2; Hebrews 10:26-31;Ephesians1:6-7. They believe that “Yahweh has extended Grace (unmerited kindness of Mercy) to all who keep His law,Rom3:2-4 and that grace is not licence to do as you please”.
