Astros has a school, a lyceum, a high school, a church which is situated on a hilltop, banks, and a post office. The port on the east side serves ferries to Spetses (Greek, Modern: Σπέτσες, Ancient/Katharevousa: -ai), older form Spetsai is an island in Greece. Until 1948, it was part of the old prefecture of Argolidocorinthia that is now split into Argolis and Corinthia. In ancient times, it was known as Pityoussa and later... Spetses. There is a beach to the northeast. In the southern part of Astros, there is a water tower, and a square ( Plateia (πλατεία) is the Greek word for town square. Much of the land is rocky and bushy and unsuitable for cultivation, but there are some farms and groves are in low-lying areas near town.


The panoramic view from Astros includes portions of the promontroy protecting the harbor, and the western and the southern portion of Argolis, except for the most low-lying areas. This view sometimes includes the shoreline communities, but these can only be seen on clearer days. The western portion of the island of Spetses is only occasionally visible.

HELLENIC PARLIAMENT - History of the Constitution (3469 words)
The Assembly of Astros passed a new electoral law, according to which the right to vote was bestowed to "men" rather than to "seniors", while the voting age went down from 30 to 25 years.
After the liberation of Greece in the fall of 1944, the Constitution of 1911 was again activated, albeit deformed due to the illiberal measures introduced via constitutional acts and resolutions of the turbulent period of the Liberation and the civil war.
Today Greece possesses a Constitution which enjoys political and historical legitimacy, is modern, it is adapted to international developments and, despite possible reservations on particular issues, provides a satisfactory institutional framework for Greece in the 21st century.
