History

When long distance cycling became popular a group in italy decided to chalenge riders to ride a long distance in a group formation. This "dare" or "audax" became very popular in France. Eventually this style of riding was inorporated into the PBP. However a falling out of the non-professional riders which eventually lead to the "audax" riders forming their own Paris-Brest-Paris AUDAX which is seperate from the "allure libre" form that the Audax Club Parisien sponsors. Paris-Brest-Paris (PBP) is an approximately 1200km randonnée bicycle ride held on an out-and-back course between Paris and Brest, France, every four years. ...
